About Me
My background
My name is Lexi and I am a painter and photographer. Ever since I was little, I have always had a passion for art. It helped me express myself and was an outlet for my emotions. I went to Marywood University and graduated with a Bachelor in Fine Arts degree in Graphic Design. I also have a minor in Illustration. Although I am a full time employee at a pediatrician's office, my passion for art grew. I started painting pet portraits and it soon became popular amongst family and friends to have a painting of their pet. I hope I can share more of my passion with you through a custom painting or any questions you may have.
My experience
I first got started with art when I was in elementary school. I would always be drawing in my notebook during class. Throughout high school, my skills improved and I advanced to oil paintings. Even though I went to college for Graphic Design, my passion for painting only grew. I started to paint more landscapes, flowers, and most recently, pet portraits. I am always looking to try new types of art, as the latest trends are always changing. Although I love painting, I also love photography. Any chance I can get, I am always snapping a photo. I believe in always capturing the moment. Life is too beautiful to not have a photo to remember.
My vision
Whenever I am painting or capturing a photo, I want to share the experience I had while in that moment, with the person looking at my work. I believe every photo and painting has a story. Each one has meaning, whether it is in the individual brush strokes, or the way the sun hits the water in that beach photograph. There is always a reason that art is created. I want people to see the artwork through my eyes: Why I chose the colors I did, why some brushstrokes go in different directions. My emotions have been poured out in every piece I did. So when you take a look at my work, imagine you were creating it. How did it make you feel? Why were those colors chosen? Everything has meaning and purpose. Go and create something beautiful!
